Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took part in a Congress protest against the Adani Group in front of the Enforcement Directorate office on Thursday. The protest was organized in response to directives from the All India Congress Committee (AICC), which had instructed Congress units nationwide to demonstrate against the BJP government for allegedly supporting the Adani Group and its alleged misappropriation of national wealth.
The demonstration follows recent controversies, including the Hindenburg report, which raised concerns over regulatory irregularities involving SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has called for Buch’s dismissal and action against her, while the INDIA bloc has pushed for a Joint Parliamentary Committee inquiry into these allegations. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted these issues at the protest, criticizing the adjournment of Parliament sessions as a setback to accountability efforts.
The protest saw participation from several key figures, including Cabinet Ministers, AICC Telangana in-charge Deepadas Munshi, and senior leader Salman Khurshid. Reddy, despite being the Chief Minister, stated that he was participating in the protest in accordance with the party’s high command directives, emphasizing that Congress party workers must heed such calls regardless of their position.

Reddy also took the opportunity to criticize the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accusing the party of misleading farmers over crop loan waivers. He urged farmers to address their issues with Collectors or agriculture officers rather than staging protests. Reddy noted that his government had allocated Rs. 18,000 crore towards crop loan waivers and assured that the government would cover any amounts exceeding the waiver limits if farmers settled the excess loan amounts.
Additionally, Reddy challenged BRS leaders to avoid obstructive demonstrations, particularly regarding the installation of a Rajiv Gandhi statue at the Secretariat. He warned that Congress workers would respond aggressively to any attempts to disrupt the installation.
The protest underscored the ongoing tensions between Congress and the ruling BJP, with allegations of corruption and mismanagement fueling the political rhetoric.
