Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today said some political parties were spiking development in the State.
Introducing the Panchayat Raj amendment Bill in the House today, the Chief Minster expressed his displeasure at the Congress members for holding placards against the government on development works. Referring to the Congress and the BJP, the Chief Minister charged them with coming in the way of progress and welfare. “We have set up 33 districts and bringing in reforms for smooth governance”, he said. KCR also said they have set up 5,000 units for governance and set up 142 municipalities, whose number was just 65 when Telangana was formed.
Some political parties were creating hurdles to new village panchayats and development. There was sand mafia which was indulging in looting natural resources. The State government has plans to develop the State in a systematic manner and so the Municipal Act was being launched. The elections for the municipal bodies will be under new Municipal Act and the government will give Rs 2,074 crore to the municipal corporations and municipalities, he added. (NSS)
