Hyderabad: Endowment Minister A, Indrakaran Reddy today appealed to people to celebrate the Ganesh festival and Muharram festival at homes and not outside to avoid coronavirus spread.
He informed media persons that the Centre has issued guidelines against social gathering in the wake of Corona pandemic across the country. The minister has urged that the people have to cooperate by not gathering in groups to conduct the Vinayaka Utsav and ensure that corona is kept at bay.
As the center puts curbs on function halls, cinema halls, pubs, schools, and other gatherings the people have to conduct the two festivals at their residences. The minister stressed the need for fighting corona by following its protocol.
Indrakaran Reddy said that there is a need for continuation of wearing masks, sanitizing hands, and maintaining physical distances. Since we used to celebrate several festivals on a grand note by gathering in huge numbers from time immemorial, now with COVID-19 spread we have to fight it the minister said.
Though the state government conducts a few festivals on a grand scale it is time for low key affairs of Ganesh Utsav and Muharram festival now, he added.
Earlier on 17 august 2020 The City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar today urged the residents of the Hyderabad to celebrate the upcoming Vinayak Chavithi and Moharram in their houses.
