New Delhi: The Congress party has speeded up its process of selection of candidates for early elections for Assembly. On Friday, the Congress leaders from Telangana state, including TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy had a meeting with AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi. About 40 leaders from the state participated in it.
They discussed about the preparation for the early elections and the latest developments in the state. Interestingly, several Telangana leaders have received messages from the TPCC Chief ‘dear friends… you will get an important phone call from Delhi. I request you to receive the phone call and get ready to respond on it”. The message revealing that the Congress party will finalise the candidates list for early elections very soon. Tension levels increased in the Congress leaders. The leaders, who received message, were in a tension that as to why it was come and the leaders, who didn’t get the message, were in a tension that as to why they didn’t get the message from Uttam.
On the other hand, the party high command appointed Telangana Congress MLA Candidates’ Selection Screening Committee with Bhaktha Charan Das as the chairman and former president Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter Sharmista Mukherji and Jyothimani Senthimalai as members today.
