Hyderabad: A delegation of Congress leaders on Saturday visited the Niloufer Hospital and slammed the State government for poor facilities in the hospital.
The delegation led by CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramara visited the prominent government hospitals in the State like NIMS. He was accompanied by party MLA Duddilla Sridhar Babu, MLC T. Jeevan Reddy and others. They interacted with the patients and enquired about the medical facilities they were receiving at the hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, the Congress leaders expressed their displeasure over the poor status of the healthcare facilities being offered by the Niloufer hospital authorities. They alleged that the hospital did not have basic amenities for the poor. They said the hospital neither has specialist doctors nor have proper facilities to cater to the needs of the patients.
They alleged that the State government had diluted the Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme and the poor patients were forced to take loans to avail the treatment to get rid of their problems. They also alleged that Health Minister Etala Rajender remained as an MLA only. (NSS)
