Hyderabad: The main Opposition party in the State and the major ally of grand alliance, the Congress Party, has finally reached out to left party CPI, another alliance partner. The move of the Congress Party comes in the wake of the reports that the left party was not happy with the way the Congress party was treating it in the State and that it might pull out of the grand alliance if it was not given the assembly seats it demanded.
Some senior Congress party leaders called up the left party top brass and urged them to not take any hasty decision while assuring that they would finalize the seat-sharing arrangement in a day or two. The party has also decided to convene a meeting of the grand alliance partners to finalize the assembly seats. The leaders have kept the venue of the meeting as a secret to avoid any kind of media attention.
According to the reliable sources from the Congress party, AICC State Incharge RC Kuntia and TPCC President N. Uttam Kumar Reddy will fly down to national capital new Delhi after the approval of the seat sharing list by the alliance partners to seek the approval of party’s highest decision making body CWC on Tuesday. “We have already asked the CPI leaders to not take any hasty decision which would affect the prospects of the grand alliance. We told them that we would finalize the seats to the left party and take the approval of our party high command for making their official announcement. They have agreed to our request,” a senior party leader said. (NSS)
