Hyderabad: Congress party MLA from Munugodu Assembly Constituency Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy shocked the party leaders and workers by making a sensational statement today. He said that he would soon join rival BJP.
He made these remarks after his visit temple town of Tirupathi on the occasion of the new year. Reddy performed special prayers at the temple.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the BJP was growing as an alternative to the ruling TRS party in the state and added that he would join the saffron party in the near future.
He however made it clear that his elder brother and the party MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy would continue in the same party. He said that he and his brother would continue to stay together as siblings.
He also said that he had decided to leave the Congress party on the basis of his own decision and made it clear that his brother was not behind his decision to switch the party. Commenting on the issue of the appointment of TPCC president, he said that his brother and the party MP A. Revanth Reddy were competing with each other for the post. He said that the time would alone decide on the TPCC president.
