Contract ANMs urge govt to solve problems

Hyderabad: Telangana (2nd) ANM Association has urged the state government to solve the problems of the ANMs working on contract basis across the state in medical and health departments while solving their long pending problems.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Association secretary G Madhavi Latha said that they were extending effective medical services to the people of rural and urban areas with inadequate salaries for the last 11 years. She said that they were conducting sanitation meetings in rural areas and encouraging cleaning of their premises and encouraging deliveries in government hospitals. She said that they were also conducting awareness programs on the precautionary measures to see that the infectious diseases not to be spread.

They asked the state government to extend equal salary to equal work following Supreme Court orders and extend Rs.10 lakh exgratia to the families of ANMs dies in service. She also urged the state government to extend ESI, insurance and health cards to the ANMs. She asked the government to provide double bed room houses to the ANMs living in rental houses. Association leaders Nagamani, R Mamatha, G Rajeswari, S Manga, Ramulamma and others participated in it. (NSS)
