Hyderabad: State Health Minister Etela Rajender Today while making it clear that the treatment of coronavirus disease is completely different from other diseases opined that it was not possible for private hospitals to treat COVID 19 patients and suspects. He said that the poor people of the state would suffer a lot if the private hospitals and diagnostic Centers were permitted to extend treatment to the coronavirus affected suspects and patients. He made these remarks after flagging a mobile ICU unit developed by grace foundation along with former Health Minister of the state Laxma Reddy at Koti Hospital premises.
Speaking on the occasion he praised the foundation for designing an innovative mobile ICU unit. He said that the corona affected patients should be identified as soon as possible and added that it was not possible to do so in the private hospitals. Referring to the orders of the high court of the state to allow the private hospitals and labs to seve the Covid 19 suspects and the patients , he said that they would hold a meeting on the issue and take a deciding on it. He made it clear that they were strictly following all the guidelines stipulated by ICMR. The minister also refuted the allegations that they buried some Covid 19 dead patients without informing their family members .
