Dr. G Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health (DPH), said here on Tuesday that Telangana has arrived at the end stage of the Omicron-driven Covid third wave.
The indication that Covid third wave has reached its end stage is that the daily Covid infections and the positivity rate have steadily declined in the last few days, said DPH.
The Covid third wave in Telangana lasted nearly 45 days between December and February and has now reached its end stage. The first Covid wave lasted nearly ten months, the Delta driven wave six months, and the Omicron driven Covid wave 45 days.
“I strongly encourage the Hyderabad IT industry and other sectors that are still implementing Work From Home (WFH) to remove such restrictions.” “The positivity rate of daily Covid infections has dropped to less than 5%, and daily Covid infections have dropped to around 1300 positive cases, which is a clear indication that Telangana’s Omicron wave has reached its end stage,” Dr Srinivasa Rao said.
“It is clear that Covid infections are declining in Telangana, and the Omicron wave is nearing its end. In the last few days, the positivity rate has also decreased. I encourage people from all walks of life to begin normalizing their lifestyles while also continuing to take basic precautions, which are critical. I also urge people to get vaccinated, which is absolutely important,” Dr Srinivasa Rao said.
