People in Hyderabad are rushing to vaccination centres in response to growing concerns about COVID-19. Since most people have already received doses 1 and 2, precautionary doses are in high demand in the city.
Despite the fact that the daily COVID case count in Hyderabad is in the single digits, people are concerned due to an increase in cases in many countries, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan.
According to the state government’s daily bulletin, people prefer to get the COVID vaccine at government vaccination centres in Hyderabad; however, in recent days, private vaccination centres have seen a surge in demand.
Hyderabad vaccination centres
Doses, including precautionary doses, can be administered in Hyderabad at both private and government vaccination centres. Private centres typically charge between Rs. 350 and Rs. 390 per dose.
According to COWIN data, the number of males vaccinated in the country is slightly higher than the number of females vaccinated.
Covishield is the most in-demand of the five vaccines administered in the country. Covaxin, Sputnik V, Corbevax, and Covovax are the other four vaccines.
When data is analyzed by age group, it is discovered that the most people are vaccinated between the ages of 18 and 44.
Cases of COVID in Hyderabad
The state’s daily COVID case count remains in the single digits. The state reported nine cases on December 25. Seven of them were reported in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad reported 37 COVID cases in the last seven days, while Adilabad had seven, Medchal Malkajigiri had six, Nizamabad had two, Karimnagar had two, Khammam had one, Kamareddy had one, Hanumakonda had one, Nagarkunool had one, and Nalgonda had one.
As of December 25, there were 59 active COVID cases in Telangana, with a 99.5 percent recovery rate.
On Sunday, the state performed 3599 tests, compared to the WHO benchmark of 140 per million tests per day, or 56000 tests per day.
