Hyderabad: Despite failing to get at least five seats from the Congress led Mahakutami, its ally CPI today announced its candidates for three seats it was allotted.
The CPI state assistant secretary Palla Venkat Reddy announced the names of candidates. They are party secretary Chada Venkat Reddy is to contest from Husnabad segment, former MLA Gunda Mallesh form Bellampally and Banoth Vijayabai from Vairya constituency. He told press persons that the CPI is not happy with the seat sharing and giving only three seats to it. In spite of discontent at the seat allocation, they have agreed to dethrone the KCR regime and form the government led by the congress led mahakutami, he said.
‘We have earlier asked for 12 seats and insisted for five seats and received only 3 now’ Venkat Reddy said. Still we seek the mahakutami to give a chance to the CPI to contest from Devarakonda segment also, he said. Our candidates will file nominations on Nov 17 and 18. The three seats are final and the CPI will not meet the Congress again for another seat, and will take one if they give, he added. To a query, he said that the congress has to take care of its rebel Pravin Reddy for stating that he will contest against Chada Venkat Reddy from Husnabad segment. We hope that the seats allotted to us have no rebels and it is the responsibility of the congress, Venkat Reddy said. He turned down the comments of CPM leader Tammineni Veerabhadram that the CPI has committed suicide by joining the Mahakutami for just three seats. We will win the three seats and disprove the CPM remarks, he added.(NSS)
