Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, generated actionable information after making sustained efforts and apprehended one cricket betting organizer by name T.Balaji, while he is accepting cricket betting at premises No.8-3-228/719, Fish Market Road, Rahmath Nagar, Yousufguda, from the known and unknown punters directly and indirectly i.e., over cell phones, on Friday. Seized Net cash of Rs.35,050/-, One T.V., One Setup box, Two Remotes and One Lenovo Cell phone which is having Super7 S App (used in place of line phone and receiving calls from the punters) from his possession.
The accused is T.Balaji, 36 Occ: Kirana shop business on the name of “Sri Tirumala Balaji Enterprises”. The accused is native of Hyderabad. He hatched a plan to organize Cricket betting and to collect the betting amounts directly and indirectly i.e. through cell phones from the punters in Hyderabad. From the past four months he is organizing Cricket betting.
He is collecting and distributing the amounts of betting from nearly 10 to 15 punters in twin cities. He also used to take the calls from the punters on phones and write betting amounts in the registers.
On May 3, as per his plan, he is running Cricket betting in an organized manner in his house and accepting Cricket betting over cell phone by watching in T.V. on ongoing IPL-2019 Cricket match in between Kings XI Punjab Vs Kolkata Knight Riders teams playing at I.S. Bindra Stadium, Mohali, Punjab on May 3 and seized the above said property from the possession of accused.
The apprehended accused along with seized property was handed over to the SHO, Jubilee Hills PS, Hyderabad for further action vide Cr.No.299/2019 U/s 3 & 4 of TS Gaming Act-1974 of Jubilee Hills PS. (NSS)
