Amidst the festive season across the country and the concerning Covid 19 cases, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR against the Lavkush Ramlila Committee. Reports suggest that the police found out that many of the attendees and the organizers of the event were not following the Covid 19 guidelines.
Permission Given For 400 Persons With Covid 19 Appropriate Behaviour
As per the latest reports, permission to conduct the Ramlila was given on the condition that only 400 people would be allowed. The people would be wearing face masks and social distancing would be maintained throughout. However, since the authorities failed to do so, the Delhi police registered a case under the Section 188 (violating prohibitory orders) at the Kotwali Police station in North Delhi.

In the permission given, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) had directed the organisers to ensure that the number of people at the venue did not exceed the seating limit available. Furthermore, no stalls or fairs were allowed to be established.
The letter further said that the organizers should ensure that the attendees wear face masks and a separate one is maintained at entry and exit points for the attendees. However, police found multiple violations at the venue.
Ramlila In Uttarakhand To Cut Dialogues To Limit Face-To-Face Time
As per the latest reports, the Ramlilas in Uttarakhand hills has announced that they would allow only the fully vaccinated actors to be on stage. Furthermore, their dialogues have been shortened to reduce conversation time and reduce face-to-face interactions on stage.
These Ramlilas have been conducted from a long time and have been attended by thousands of people. However, with the ongoing pandemic, the performances have been adjusted to cope with the changing times.
Keeping in mind the same, the Pauri Ramlila which is recognised as one of the oldest and unique Ramlilas by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts has reduced the permitted capacity at its venue to half to maintain social distancing.
