Hyderabad: DEO & Commissioner GHMC M. Dana Kishore has appealed all the NGOs/SHGs/Aasara Committees/Physically challenged organizations/ RWAs/ Schools/Colleges to join hands with the GHMC in creating awareness about the Revision of electoral rolls for inclusion of names in the electoral rolls who have attend the age as on 01.01.2018 so that the percentage of voters can be increased as well the citizens can cast their vote for the ensuing elections.
The DEO, Ms. Harichandana, ZC & Nodal Officer for SVEEP i.e., Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation along with various representatives of NGOs etc., held a review meeting with the above said organizations for effective implementation of the Revision of Electoral Rolls and also to create awareness among the citizens till 25th September 2018 as per the guidelines of the ECI involving 15 NGO groups and 720 clubs which are existing in the GHMC for taking up the awareness campaign, the DEO added.
The DEO said that the main aim of the SVEEP is to enhance the voting percentage when compare to that of last year for which the system has been introduced by the ECI where all the representatives of various NGOs organizations etc., along with the staff of the UCD wing of the GHMC to campaign and to create awareness door to door in all the 15 Assembly Constituencies to enroll the names in the summary revision of electoral rolls, where 15 selected NGOs have been selected along with the staff of the UCD to take up the awareness campaign in all the 15 Assembly constituencies and also to monitor the basic minimum facilities to be provided at the polling booths, DEO added.
