Actress Dimple Hayathi is all set to make a comeback to the silver screen after a two-year hiatus. The Telugu actress has been roped in for a key role in an upcoming period drama starring Sharwanand and directed by Sampath Nandi.
Anupama Parameshwaran had already been announced as the female lead of the film. With Dimple Hayathi now joining the cast, the project promises a powerful ensemble. The film, which draws inspiration from real-life incidents while blending in fictional elements, is expected to begin shooting soon.
This marks director Sampath Nandi’s return to filmmaking after a brief break. Known for his commercial entertainers, the director is now venturing into a period backdrop, raising curiosity about the film’s narrative and treatment.

Dimple Hayathi, who started her career at a young age with the film Gulf, went on to appear in notable projects such as Khiladi and Ramabanam. Despite setbacks, Dimple gained widespread attention for her energetic special number in Gaddalakonda Ganesh opposite Varun Tej. Interestingly, she was initially cast as the female lead in that film, but had to step away due to other professional commitments. The project she had committed to was eventually shelved after 80% of the shoot was completed. In a gesture of appreciation, director Harish Shankar offered her the special song that went on to become a chartbuster.
