Rising actress Elisha Mayor has captured audience hearts with her powerful portrayal of Munmun in the youth-centric web series ‘Hai Junoon!’. While the show is packed with high-energy dance battles and campus drama, it’s Elisha’s emotional depth and grounded performance that’s making waves across social media.
Known for her classical Kathak background, Elisha brought a new layer of vulnerability and strength to her character. Munmun’s storyline of identity struggles and personal growth has struck a chord with viewers, with several scenes from the show going viral.
Interestingly, Elisha originally auditioned for two other roles but was drawn to Munmun after learning about the character’s layered emotional journey. The turning point came during an intense two-page monologue, which eventually became one of the show’s most emotional sequences. By the time the cameras rolled, Elisha had performed the scene nearly ten times during auditions and rehearsals.

Despite the show’s urban dance setting, Elisha hoped to infuse her classical roots into her role but embraced hip-hop and contemporary styles with full dedication. Working closely with choreographer Ruel Dausan Varindani, she adapted to new forms while maintaining the emotional stillness and “therav” that defines her as a performer.
Having made her mark with shows like ‘Kaala’ and ‘CAT’, Elisha continues to choose roles that challenge her versatility. She admits that while she hasn’t yet reached a stage to pick and choose projects freely, she carefully considers the script, the makers, and the platform involved.
Beyond acting, her dream remains to do a full-fledged love story with strong dance elements, something she feels reflects her romantic and artistic personality.
Fans are now hoping for a second season of ‘Hai Junoon!’, with many rooting for a possible reunion between Bikram and Munmun. Elisha herself is open to exploring Munmun’s leadership journey if the show returns.
