Etala Exhorts Group-I Officers To Provide People-Centric Governance

Hyderabad: The six-week foundation course for the first batch of Group-I Officers after the formation of Telangana, was conducted by Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, concluded today.

Finance Minister Etala Rajender, who was the chief guest at the valedictory function, said widespread happiness among the people, especially their weaker counterparts, was the real indicator of true and inclusive development, rather than mere acquisition of wealth, possession of luxury gadgets, extensive use of technology, and availability of physical infrastructure. “Group-I officers, on account of their important positions in their respective organizations, can increase happiness quotient by providing people-centric governance, being available for people 24×7, welcoming ambience in the offices for the a common man, understanding their genuine problems, and taking decisions, free from all biases, in order to find enduring solutions for them”, he stated.

Eatala also said the State, on account of its innovative flagship schemes, has emerged as a role model for other States in the country. “Unlike in Assam and Jharkhand, the present political leadership has not only succeeded in getting separate Telangana State, but also was providing good governance”, he stated, with a sense of pride. He called upon the Group-I Officers to contribute their mite to the growth trajectory of the State by dedicating themselves to the society.
Special Chief Secretary and Director General of Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana B P Acharya, IAS, said while knowledge about job is important in its own right, the ultimate success of an officer primarily depends upon his right attitudes and deep commitment to serve the society. He said an officer, despite his best intentions, cannot achieve best results, when he works is isolation. He advised them to come out of their respective shells and work with their counterparts from other services as a single team.

Eatala Rajender went round Mahatma Gandhi Mobile Digital Museum Bus, near Tungabhadra Block. The students of TS Residential School for Boys, Borabanda, who were invited on this occasion, were mesmerized with the details about the Museum.

Rajender presented certificates, medals and awards to the officers. Ms Deepti Naini bagged the prestigious trophy for best all-round performance. Ms Vani Nelluri and Ajmeera Sridas were awarded the trophies for best performance in academic and non-academic spheres, respectively. Dr Shaik Mohammed Nabi, Cource Director, B Venkateswara Rao, IAS, ADG, Dr R Madhavi, Course Coordinator also spoke.(NSS)
