Ex-TTD employee held for cheating job-seekers

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force personnel on Tuesday arrested a former employee of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam on charges of cheating job aspirants promising jobs in TTD, Yadadri Devasthanam and Singareni Collieries Company Limited. The accused allegedly lured the youths with offers of the posts of data operators, store operators, multi-tasking staff and attenders and collected huge amounts from them, police said.

The arrested suspect was identified as P. Ramesh, a resident of Tarnaka and a native of Khammam, who discontinued his studies with Intermediate and started working as a system operator in TTD, Karimnagar, as an out-sourcing employee since 2015. The Task Force sleuths said Ramesh came in contact with many job aspirants from Karimnagar and assured jobs through backdoor using his contacts. “He collected money ranging from few thousands to a lakh based on the posts they desired. So far, he cheated some 40 job aspirants, most of them from Karimnagar,” police said.

Ramesh also cheated 25 devotees promising Seva tickets of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala. He collected money but did not book tickets, police said. In this regard, the TTD officials held his posting for one month and later dismissed him, officials said. For the last five months, job aspirants and the devotees started pressuring him to return the money. He moved from Karimnagar and was staying with his family here in Tarnaka, from where he was arrested.

Official said so far, three cases were registered against Ramesh in Hyderabad and Karimnagar. He was handed over to the Bowenpally police for further investigation. The Hyderabad Police warned job aspirants not to fall into trap of agents who promise jobs through unofficial channels. They asked the youngsters to confirm about the posting from the authorities concerned. (NSS)
