As the countdown to the New Year begins, many families in the twin cities are opting for a more relaxed and private celebration at farmhouses on the city’s outskirts, moving away from the bustling clubs and hangouts. The strict traffic safety rules, combined with increased surveillance on drunken driving, have driven people to seek alternative venues for ringing in the New Year, with farmhouses proving to be the preferred choice.
The demand for farmhouse bookings is so high that all available properties in suburban areas like Moinabad, Shankarpally, Medchal, Ghatkesar, Bhongir, and Shamshabad have already been snapped up. In particular, Moinabad, home to over 300 farmhouses, has become the epicenter of this trend. These farmhouses, primarily used for commercial purposes, are being rented out at prices ranging from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 1 lakh, depending on the number of guests.
The appeal of these farmhouses lies in the range of amenities they offer, which far exceed what typical city clubs provide. Most farmhouses are equipped with posh interiors, kitchens, swimming pools, and dedicated spaces for bonfires, music, and alcohol consumption, creating the perfect atmosphere for a family celebration. Unlike clubs, where revelers must leave by 1:30 AM, farmhouses allow guests to continue the party into the early morning, offering the added benefit of rest until the next evening.

A family from West Marredpally, for example, has booked a farmhouse in Moinabad to host over 30 relatives and friends. “We can’t bring so many people to a club. Plus, at a farmhouse, we can celebrate without time constraints and rest afterward,” said J Sai Kumar Yadav, a local businessman.
This shift towards farmhouses for New Year’s celebrations is a clear indication that people are prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety while bidding farewell to 2024 and welcoming 2025.
