Hyderabad: The newly introduced Fast tag method of the Central government has finally come into force across the country including the state. However, the vehicle users who did not have the fast tags faced several problems at the toll plazas located in the state.
Huge traffic jam was witnessed at putting toll gate of choutupal Mandal from yadadri Bhongir district as the vehicle users who didn’t have the fast tags were seen making cash payments to cross the toll plaza. Five gates of the plaza have been kept for the passage of the vehicle users with fast tags and three gates have been kept for those who make cash payments. A similar traffic jam was witnessed at the Parigi toll plaza of Krishna district. Although the central government has issued orders to charge double the amount of the toll fee as fine from the nonfast tag vehicle users, it has relaxed the rule anticipating public anger and set aside 25 percent of hybrid lines for collecting cash from them.
There was also traffic jam at Korlapahad toll plaza in Kethepally Mandal in Nalgonda district due to the same reason. Those who don’t have FASTag were also stopping their vehicles at the special counter set up near Korlapahad toll plaza for issuance of FASTag.
