KT Rama Rao Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development inaugurated the First Air-Conditioned Modern Bus Shelter at Shilparamam.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s Bus Shelters program, about 826 bus shelters in four packages on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis would come up across the city soon.
The bus shelters have been divided into four grades (different sizes) and all will have mobile charging units, dinking water facilities, Wi-Fi, ATM and toilets, apart from being air-conditioned.
The Minister also inaugurated the first Loo and Caf, a luxury washroom concept floated by the GHMC again.
The facility is a washroom equipped with Wi-Fi, ATM, diaper station, coffee vending machines and toilet. The washrooms are also designed to cater to the needs of the physically challenged and also women.
The first one is situated opposite Shilparamam in Madhapur.
