Hyderabad: Facilities Management Council(.FMC) in association with IT, E & C, Dept, Govt of Telangana and Tech Mahindra is organising the three day IT Handloom Mela here in the city at Tech Mahindra at Jubilee Enclave, Madhapur from September 5th to 7th. The expo was formally inauruated on today morning.
Diclosing this in a Press Note issued here today, Satyanarayana Mathala, the President of behalf of FMC said nearly 10,000 people are expected to visit the expo in the next three days. In this expo, we are introducing Gollabhama Sarees”, he informed. Gadwal, Pochampally, Siddipet, Ikkat Pattu Sarees, Handicraft products, Handloom Kurthas and many more will be on display. The expo will be open from 10am to 6pm
The objective behind these series of IT Handloom Melas is to popularise Handloom among IT employees and encourage them to wear Handlooms once in a day atleast on Monday. Service Minded Facilities Management Professionals committed to make every IT Professional wear Handlooms at least one day in a week. Their initiative and effort is appreciated and encouraged by ITE & C Dept, Govt of TS with an award presented by KT Rama Rao. 250 strong FMC team has been organising several Handloom Melas, Cycle Rallies, Fashion Shows to create awareness and promote Handloom Clothes for the past several months. Their sustained efforts clocked a sale of Rs 52 lakh worth Handloom Clothes, and six handloom melas organized so far registered a foot fall of 1.3 lakh IT professionals .
