Hyderabad: The SOT sleuths of Cyberabad have arrested four members of a notorious inter-state criminal gang of Madhya Pradesh known as Pardhi gang. The gangsters indulged in 21 offences, including burglaries in 20 houses during nights and robbery under the limits of Cyberabad, Rachakonda, Khammam, Warangal Police Commissionerates and Mahabubnagar District and recovered gold ornaments weighing one kilogram and silver items weighing three kilogram all worth Rs 35 lakh.
The modus operandi of the criminal gang was that they leave their native villages along with their families in a group, erect temporary shelters on the outskirts, mostly near Railway stations of selected Towns/Cities and start living there pretending to be vendors of Rudraksha Malas, toys, hair wigs and so on.
They, along with women family members move in the towns/cities for selling Rudraksha Malas, toys and hair wigs while the male members identify the locked houses and during nights, they commit burglaries in the houses and decamp with gold ornaments, silver items and cash. In case the inmates of the house resist them, they attack them with blunt objects and inflict fatal injuries to them leading to death. In some of the offences, they made holes in central lock door for entering the houses for committing theft.
They committed 12 robberies in Cyberabad Commissionerate, three thefts in Rachakonda Commissionerate, two under Warangal Commissionerate, three under Khammam Commissionerate and on e in Mahabubnagar District.
The Cyberabad Police took it as a challenge and pressed Special Operation Teams of Balanagar and Shamshabad Zones into service. The teams swing into action and visited Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Odisha and Rajasthan States before nabbing the criminals. In a joint operation of SOT and Balanagar Police, the accused were arrested near Medchal Railway Station on the night of November 27. The offenders were also involved in offences in other States.
