Hyderabad: Viswajeet Kampati, Director, Vigilance & Enforcement, GHMC, today said as a part of curbing banned plastic bags and material (less than 50 microns), sealed four wholesale shops at Begum Bazaar area i.e. Bhavani Plastics, Divya Traders, Tirumala Traders and Sanmathi Plastics.
Viswajeet said last week, the Enforcement teams issued notices to 12 shops in Begum bazar and also seized more than 10 lakh banned plastic covers. Out of the 12 shops, eight have given written affidavits that they would not repeat such activities in future. The remaining four shops which failed to respond have been sealed today.
The GHMC Enforcement Wing will be conducting such surprise raids regularly against manufactures, stockists and sellers of banned plastic materials in the future as well, said the Director. (NSS)
