Hyderabad: The MaxiVision Super Specialty Eye Hospital here organized health camps in all its branches in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam to create awareness on diabetes and its ill-effects on the body on World Diabetes Day today. A team of doctors participated in the program. Free eye check-up, random blood sugar, Blood pressure, height and weight checkups were done for all diabetes patients on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sudheer, COO, Maxivision eye hospitals said, “World Diabetes Day” is observed every year on November 14 to create global attention on ill-effects of uncontrolled diabetes. Diabetic retinopathy is one leading cause of blindness and vision impairment. Vision problems are common in people of all age groups but the severity is more in elderly people. Elderly people get vision defects as their age grows and develop issues related to sight. Thus they need long-lasting and approachable treatment.
Diabetes is one of the important factors which will lead to diabetic retinopathy, if not treated in time may lead to vision impairment.
