Gandhi hospital suspends OP services from Saturday

City-based Gandhi Hospital has suspended all its Out-Patient (OP) services in the wake of the rapid spread of the second wave of Covid 19 virus.

 

The directorate of medical education of the state has informed that the OP services at the Gandhi Hospital would be suspended from Saturday.

It said that the decision was taken as there is a steep increase in the number of Covid 19 patients approaching the hospital for their treatment. It said that a patient was being admitted at Gandhi Hospital every ten minutes. It also said that the beds with ventilators and other beds were fully occupied at the hospital now.

The authorities of the hospital are now discharging the patients from other departments to offer full-fledged Covid 19 services. The health department of the state has issued orders to the hospital authorities to stop all electives and offer only Covid 19 treatment.

The hospital already has 450 Covid 19 patients. A total of 150 Patients were admitted to the hospital on Thursday alone. The inpatient block has already been filled with the Covid 19 Patients.
