Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SK Joshi today instructed the Civil Supplies officials to prepare an action plan to purchase about 30 lakh metric tons of farm produce during Kharif season.
Addressing a meeting with Civil Supplies Commissioner Akun Sabharawal and others at Secretariat here, the chief secretary discussed on Kharif preparedness and asked them to get ready with all mechanism to procure agriculture produce through purchase centers. If necessary set up more purchase centers and reduce transportation expenditure while shifting the agriculture produce to godowns. Take up details of the farmers and prepare a database and ensure that all the produce is procured from the farmers and make payments on time. There is a need for transparency while procuring and shifting the farm produce, the chief secretary said.
Focus on facilities such as gunny bags, storage facility, vehicles to shift the produce and workers. Since the target is to purchase about 30 lakh metric tons of farm produce during Kharif season the officials should take extra care to procure complete stocks from the farmers and make payments online into their accounts. Joshi informed that a total of Rs 16,691 crore has been transferred into the accounts of the farmers by procuring paddy year wise including – 107.92 lakh metric tons of farm produce from 22.18 lakhs of farmers during 2016 Kharif, 2017 Rabi and Kharif and 2018 Rabi seasons
He also asked them to analyse through cards through units against 2.73 crore of units and 85,33,935 ration cards in the state. The government has been implementing e-pass system since 2018 February and has done 43 lakhs of ration portability transactions so far. He said that the officials should now take up village panchayat wise mapping of details pertaining to the ration shops. The Chief Secretary also reviewed on the schemes like fine rice supply to the students, Deepam scheme, Midday meals scheme, filling up of vacancies of ration dealer, setting up new ration shops. He also instructed State Food Commission to prepare the annual action plan.
Akun Sabharwal informed that they are ready to procure farm produce, monitoring transportation through GPS, godowns through CCTVs, payment of customs milling and rice procurement and booked 10331, 6A cases since 2014. He also said that they have registered Rs 49.38 crore stamping fee and Rs 24.56 crore compound fee, 57000 cases booked since 2014 besides conducting special rides from time to time. (NSS)
