GHMC chief directs engineers to expedite road repair works

Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner M. Dana Kishore today directed the Chief Engineer and senior officials of the Engineering wing to speed up the works of road repairing as well as filling of potholes on war-footing as the weather conditions are also favorable for taking up such works.

In this connection, the Commissioner inspected the ongoing road repairing and filling of pot holes and other road repairing works in various areas of the twin cities today from 2pm onwards. The Commissioner inspected and personally monitored the road repairing works which are being taken up at Katta Maisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund, VST Junction, Ramnagar to Bagh Lingampally, DD Colony, Red Building road, Shivam Road, ATI, Maredpally, St. Ann’s School to Malkajgiri, Malkajgiri to Moulali. While on inspection of the roads in the GHMC limits the Commissioner, GHMC directed the officials to shift the electrical poles to nearby safer place where the road widening works are being taken up at VST for the convenience of the citizens.

The Commissioner instructed the Engineering officials to deploy all the Instant Repair Teams, Mini Mobile Teams, Mobile Monsoon Emergency Teams, Central Emergency Teams altogether 252 teams must take up the pot hole filling works each team must take up at least 10 potholes everyday and a detailed report be submitted to the Commissioner for immediate reference.

The Commissioner, while on inspection at Shivam Road and other inspected areas where the footpath works are not being taken up in a proper manner for which he expressed his dissatisfaction and directed to expedite the works on priority. (NSS)
