The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has kicked off a major beautification project for the flyovers across the city, with an estimated cost of Rs 110 crore. The project, aimed at enhancing the city’s aesthetics, includes significant improvements to flyovers and junctions, funded by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
According to official sources, while the total expenditure is expected to be close to Rs 110 crore, works worth Rs 54 crore have already been completed, focusing on aesthetic improvements. These efforts encompass flyover facelifts, which include colorful paintings, artistic murals, and thematic designs that are transforming the city’s flyovers into visually engaging landmarks.
In addition to the flyovers, the project also focuses on upgrading junctions across Hyderabad. These upgrades feature the installation of fountains, artistic sculptures, and landscaping to elevate the city’s overall aesthetic appeal. These enhancements aim to create a more vibrant, welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

Lighting improvements are another key aspect of the beautification project, with officials emphasizing the importance of making the city’s roads visually stunning, especially at night. The new lighting arrangements will enhance the nighttime appeal of the flyovers and junctions, creating a more inviting atmosphere throughout the city.
GHMC officials highlighted that the ongoing beautification drive will contribute significantly to making Hyderabad a more vibrant and aesthetically pleasing urban space. Several flyovers have already started showcasing their renewed and visually engaging appearance, thanks to the extensive painting and artwork that is currently in progress.
As this project continues to take shape, it is expected to not only improve the city’s aesthetic value but also enhance the experience for commuters, tourists, and citizens, marking another step forward in the transformation of Hyderabad into a modern, visually captivating city.
