Hyderabad : CEO Rajat Kumar today directed the officials concerned to hand over the revised voters’ lists to the political parties by October 25. At a video conference from GHMC, he instructed the Collectors, SPs to make fool proof arrangements for the Assembly polls due to be held on December 7.
The district officials have given a power point presentation on their poll preparedness and apprised the arrangements to the CEO. Stating that the revised voters’ lists have to be disbursed among the political parties, Rajat Kumar asked them to set up polling stations in pucca buildings and shift those from dilapidated buildings. Focus on problematic areas and see that voting per centage is increased by bringing awareness among people, he said. The polling booths should have power supply, ventilation and light. Rajat Kumar also said that security has to be beefed up at the borders of five states adjoining the state of Telangana. He sought the details and basis from the officials about 91 problematic areas in Adilabad district alone. The staff has to be ready to clarify the doubts on the functioning of the EVMs. He also said that the polling process and monitoring through the EVMs will be videographed. The poll arrangements report is being sent to the Election Commission on regular basis, he added.(NSS)
