Goa: BJP, Congress Tightens Grip Amidst Over Hung Assembly Anticipations

With the election season, the exit polls have estimated for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) forming the government in Goa. The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant came to Delhi to meet the central leadership and discuss the strategies in case the result takes a different turn.

BJP Might Win 13-17 Seats

Sources said that Sawant arrived at Delhi on Monday night and today is meeting BJP central leadership to talk about potential situations if there should arise an occurrence of hung Assembly.
Party insiders said that the conversation of Sawant and central leadership is focussing on figuring out ways of crossing the midway stamps on the off chance that the BJP flops shy of greater part.
The ABP C-Voter Exit Poll has anticipated somewhere in the range of 13 and 17 seats for the BJP and somewhere in the range of 12 and 16 seats for the Congress. The AAP is projected to win 1-5 seats. Goa has 40 Assembly situates with a greater part sign of 21.
While the BJP had gone into the polls with its motto ’22 or more in 2022′, Sawant said that regardless of whether the party is stuck at 17-18 seats, it would look for help from Independent MLAs to frame the government.
“On the off chance that we are stuck at 17-18, I feel three to four seats will be won by Independents. Free movers will more often than not help the people who are in larger part. I’m sure of forming the government with Independents,” Sawant had said on Monday, a day when a few leave surveys anticipated a decent appearance by the BJP.

Congress Asks Candidates To Stay In Goa Until Thursday

At the same time, the Congress is also on its toes with the potential of having a hung assembly in Goa. The Congress has begun ring-fencing its possibility to keep away from a 2017-style catastrophe where it neglected to frame an administration even in the wake of winning the most seats.
Stung by surrenders before, the party has purportedly moved its candidates to a retreat in north Goa, where they will remain until Thursday’s counting of votes is finished and the outcomes are out.
