Governor heaps praise on government

The Governor of the state Tamilisai Soundararajan today said that The Telangana  State was marching with an objective of the development of all the sectors and welfare of all communities and added that it also treading forward with self-confidence into yet another financial year. She also said that the state was carved into a separate state as new dawn ushering from utter darkness by tearing apart the darkness that prevailed for six decades.

“Telangana State which is still in nascent stage had achieved many milestones in all sectors and became a torchbearer to the entire country, just as a blossomed flower sheds its fragrance. Those who opposed the formation of Telangana, hurled several curses like there will be a law and order problem, if Telangana State is formed, utter jeopardy will prevail in Hyderabad, darkness will exist without power and industries will move away. They even made mockery that people of Telangana are not capable of doing agriculture,” she said. They prophesized that Telangana would not survive as a state,” she said while addressing the joint session of the state legislature on the first budget session of the state. Delivering her speech. She said that the state was standing straight and made critics to shut their mouth by drawing inspiration from the words of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, who once said that the only answer to the opponents was to stand straight by facing challenges and to take our identity to a state which cannot be put aside.

She said that Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister of the state K  Chandrasekhar Rao, several innovative schemes were introduced by the Government which paved the already shattered Telangana State due to plots of erstwhile rulers into development mode and transformed it as a progressive state. She said that the jump of the state to the third position in the Sustainable Development Goals India index declared by UNO reflects its progress.

“If we reminisce, the achievements from June 2, 2014, to today we will be left astonished. If we recollect the awful memories of distress prior to the formation of the new State, even now, those memories will pain us. Then, there was backwardness in all sectors, unrest in all sections of the community, disturbance in all regions, darkness everywhere, and was a zigsaw puzzle. From these dire straits, Telangana State reached the stage of optimism is not a miracle that happened overnight. Behind this victory lie thousands of hours of brainstorming and endeavoring for six and half years. In the matter concerning what should happen in Telangana after the formation of a new state, the then leader of the movement and at the present leader of our state Chandrasekhar Rao had crystal clear understanding in the background of his experience,” Tamilisai said

She said that the  Government had a comprehensive understanding about its needs and its goals. Commenting on the financial growth of the state, she said that State formulated its development model as individual-centric with an objective to find solutions to problems.   She said that the state had registered an annual growth of 17.24 percent average annual growth rate from the year  2014 to 2019 and added that it had increased its revenues and stood first in the country. She said that in 2013-2014 the State’s GSDP was Rs. 4,51,580 crores and added that it increased by it 114.71 percent to reach Rs. 9,69,604 crores by 2019-20.

She also said that In 2013-14, the per capita income in Telangana was Rs. 1,12,162 and added that, by 2019-20,  it reached Rs.2,28,216. “The state government is spending the increased revenues with fiscal discipline and perfect planning to develop the infrastructure and welfare of the people. According to the present assessment, the anticipated per-capita income and GSDP by the end of 2020-21 Financial year would likely to be Rs.2,27,145 and Rs.9,78,373 crores respectively,” she noted.
