Hamas Tunnels in Gaza Struck by Israel

On Tuesday Israeli aircraft struck the Hamas tunnels in Gaza, it was a response to the launch of explosive balloons from the military blockade in Palestinian territory, they said.

Warplanes, tanks, other targeted military posts and underground structure belonging to Hamas in an overnight attack, Xinhua news agency quoted a military person as saying this in a statements

“The IDF (Isreal Defense Force) remains ready to operate decisively against any attempted terror activity aimed at Israeli civilians or any violation of Israeli sovereignty.” The statement read.

Ha’aretz a Hebrew-Language newspaper stated that a convoy which belonged to Qatar was expected to arrive in the Gaza strip on Tuesday to arrange the transfer of important financing to the besieged territory.

Since August 6,  the territory of Palestine has seen military pressures with the Israeli armed force, as the Palestinian youth have been propelling combustible balloons against Israel locales contiguous the strip.

Because of this, the Israeli warplanes targeted many of the military sites belonging to the Hamas movement.

Israel has closed Keren Shalom, which is the only commercial crossing on the country’s border with the Gaza Strip, halted fuel supply, and reduced the territory’s fishing zone due to the balloon attacks.

Israel often carries out air and land attacks on the residents citing insubstantial excuses. These attacks are against the last year’s truce agreement backed by the UN, Egypt, and Qatar.

Since 2007 Gaza has been under Israeli sea and land blockade. Everything is restricted and under control including the entries and exits on land by Israel. There are two million people inside the Gaza strip, they live in what is commonly known as the “world’s largest open-air prison.”

More than half of the Gaza strip is forced to live in harsh conditions and poverty due to Israeli blockades according to the world bank.
