Veteran Congress party leader V. Hanumantha Rao today came down heavily on State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his insulting comments against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
He said that he was condemning the usage of terms like Mamata Begum and Mamata Khan by Bandi Sanjay to address the West Bengal CM. He made it clear that it was not proper on the part of Bandi Sanjay to insult a tall and popular leader like Mamata Banarjee.
He also said that it was also unfortunate that Bandi alleged that Mamata received funds from Bangladesh for her party’s victory in the recent assembly elections. He told Bandi that his own party leaders like Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Dr. K. Laxman, and Bandaru Dattatreya never made such insulting comments against the women of the country. He urged the High Court of the state to take Suo Moto cognizance of the insulting remarks made by Bandi Sanjay against Mamata. He reminded Bandi Sanjay that his own Parth led central government is implementing Beti Bachao Beti padao to ensure women’s empowerment in the country.

He advised Bandi Sanjay to talk to central government officials and arrange vaccines for the people of the state. Referring to the statement of the chief secretary of the state Somesh Kumar that there was no need to reimpose lockdown in the state, he said that the statement would show its commitment towards the prevention of the virus. He said that it was unfortunate that Somesh Kumar made such a statement amid the talk of the spread of the third coronavirus wave in the state. He asked the state government to take the right decision on the issue.
He urged the party leaders and workers to take part in the death anniversary of the former CM of AP Damodaram Sanjeevaiah at LB Stadium and Sanjeevaiah Park on May 7.
