Harish Rao Criticizes Congress for Failing to Implement SC/ST Declaration

BRS MLA Harish Rao highlighted the Congress party’s unfulfilled promises to the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities during the Mothi Matha Jathara celebrations at Mogudampalli and Upparapalli Thanda. Accompanied by MLAs Manik Rao, Chinta Prabhakar, DCMS Chairman Shivakumar, and local leaders, Harish Rao addressed thousands of devotees attending the festival.

Harish Rao pointed out the Congress’s failure to implement its SC/ST Declaration promises, including the Girijana Bandhu scheme, which pledged Rs 12 lakh assistance, and the provision of gold under the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme for women. “These promises remain unimplemented, leaving the tribal communities disappointed,” he stated.

The BRS leader took the opportunity to showcase the achievements of the BRS government under KCR’s leadership, emphasizing improved infrastructure and welfare programs. “During our tenure, we constructed community halls, ensured proper drinking water supply, improved road connectivity, and enhanced electricity access. These initiatives have significantly improved the quality of life for people in tribal areas,” Harish said.

Speaking about the Jathara, Harish expressed his joy at the large turnout, which included devotees from Sangareddy district, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. “It is heartening to see the participation of so many people. We have made arrangements to ensure a smooth experience for all devotees, and I prayed to the Goddess to bless everyone with happiness and prosperity,” he said.

Harish did not shy away from criticizing the Congress government’s performance, particularly its lack of action on tribal welfare. “The Congress made several promises to tribal communities to come to power, but none of them have been implemented. Under BRS rule, tribal reservations were increased by 10 percent, ensuring better education and employment opportunities. Additionally, gram panchayats were established for thandas, improving access to basic amenities like drinking water,” he noted.

He also called out the Congress for discontinuing overseas scholarships for tribal students. “The BRS government supported tribal students pursuing higher education abroad through scholarships. The Congress must take immediate action to reinstate these programs,” Harish urged.

Harish concluded his address by praying for the well-being of all attendees at the Jathara and urging the Congress government to fulfill its promises to the tribal communities without further delay.
