Harish Rao Raises Concerns Over Caste Census Documents Found on Road

In a scathing criticism of the Telangana government’s handling of sensitive data, former minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao has expressed alarm over caste census applications being found on the road. Harish Rao, who is known for his outspoken views, took to Twitter on Friday to highlight the incident, drawing attention to the government’s negligence in handling the documents.

In his tweet, Harish Rao pointed out that the discovery of caste census family survey documents on the road was reminiscent of a similar incident in the past when Praja Palana applications were also found discarded in public spaces. “Applications for Praja Palana that have come onto the road then… Today, the caste census family survey documents are on the road again. This is another proof of the sincerity of the government towards the collection of people’s details,” he said, criticizing the government for its mishandling of important public data.

Raising serious concerns about the security of the sensitive information collected in the caste census, Harish Rao questioned the government’s commitment to safeguarding the personal data of Telangana’s citizens. He further stated, “It is clear that the security of the data obtained in social, economic, educational, employment, political, and caste surveys is not good. What will happen to people if these details fall into the hands of cyber fraudsters?”

The BRS leader strongly condemned what he called the government’s negligent attitude, asserting that it violated the right to privacy of the people. He also demanded a serious response from the government to address the incident, calling for measures to ensure the safety of people’s personal information.

“The government must respond seriously to this incident and provide security to people’s details,” Harish Rao added, tagging the official Twitter handle of the Chief Minister’s Office (@TelanganaCMO).

This incident has raised alarm among the public and opposition leaders alike, with many calling for an immediate investigation into how such sensitive documents were left unprotected. Harish Rao’s remarks have sparked widespread debate about the adequacy of the Telangana government’s efforts to secure personal data and its handling of critical public surveys.
