Tech giant HCLTech has expanded its global delivery footprint with the opening of a state-of-the-art Global Delivery Centre (GDC) in the heart of Hyderabad’s thriving IT hub, Hitech City. The new facility, covering 3.2 lakh square feet, is designed to accommodate around 5,000 employees, further solidifying HCLTech’s presence in the city.
With this new centre, HCLTech’s total seating capacity in Hyderabad rises to 8,500 across five development centres. The newly established GDC will focus on delivering advanced cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital transformation solutions to a diverse range of global clients across industries, including hi-tech, life sciences, and financial services.
C Vijayakumar, CEO and Managing Director of HCLTech, praised Hyderabad’s strategic importance in the company’s global operations. “With its world-class infrastructure and high-quality talent pool, Hyderabad has been a key location on HCLTech’s global network. The new centre will bring cutting-edge capabilities to our global client base and contribute to the local technology ecosystem,” he said.
HCLTech has had a presence in Hyderabad since 2007, and this new expansion further underscores the city’s role as a hub for IT and tech innovation. In addition to the new GDC, the company also entered into a strategic agreement with Japanese medtech player Olympus Corporation in June last year to establish an offshore R&D centre in the city.
This expansion by HCLTech is expected to create significant job opportunities for tech professionals in Hyderabad, particularly in areas such as cloud computing, AI, and digital transformation. The facility’s large capacity and focus on cutting-edge technology solutions present promising career prospects for skilled individuals in the region.
As HCLTech continues to grow its operations in Hyderabad, it reinforces the city’s position as a key player in the global tech ecosystem, offering numerous career opportunities for professionals in various fields.
