Health services under the Aarogyasri scheme will continue uninterrupted in Telangana, according to the Telangana Aarogyasri Network Hospitals Association (TANHA). This assurance came following a meeting with Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha.
Several hospitals had suspended non-emergency Aarogyasri services from January 10, citing unresolved issues that have persisted for nearly a decade. The concerns raised included long-pending dues, outdated package rates, and the need for revisions to the empanelment Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
In response to the disruptions, Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha held discussions with TANHA representatives, including Health Secretary Christina Z Chongthu, TANHA President Dr. V Rakesh, General Secretary Hari Prakash, and members Dr. Soujanya and Harish Reddy. During the meeting, the Minister assured that the government would clear all pending dues within four to five months.

Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha emphasized the government’s commitment to the healthcare sector, stating, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, we are allocating funds for education and healthcare without any political bias.”
TANHA representatives expressed optimism after the meeting, appealing for the resolution of decade-long issues and urging the government to address their demands promptly. Their key requests included a review of Aarogyasri package rates to reflect current medical costs and revisions to the empanelment MoU to ensure better collaboration between hospitals and the government.
The Aarogyasri scheme, a flagship health initiative in Telangana, provides financial assistance for medical treatments to low-income families. The recent assurances from the state government have raised hopes of improved healthcare delivery under the scheme, benefiting countless beneficiaries across the state.
