Heatwave conditions likely to prevail for two days in Telangana

Heatwave conditions are expected to last two days in Telangana and one day in Andhra Pradesh, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientists on Monday.

Sravani, a scientist at the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, told reporters that thundershowers are going on in the entire Telangana.

Given the presence of a trough in South Chhattisgarh. The southwesterly and northwesterly winds have prevailed throughout the state over the last 24 hours.

It will continue for the next 24 hours, especially in the northern part of the state. The westerlies prevail in the southern part.

She stated that heatwave conditions would prevail in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts.

“The heat wave conditions are also expected in Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Medak, Adilabad, Nirmal, Hanumakonda, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam because the temperatures are rising continuously,” she said.

The IMD scientist added, “The normal temperature at this time, should have been 36-38 degrees. But it is touching 40-41 degrees which is creating discomfort in the entire state. We are expecting similar weather in the next 24 hours”.

Thunderstorms and gusty winds are expected in the northern and eastern parts of Telangana, while thunderstorms and lightning conditions with isolated rainfall are expected in the central part.

“The same weather will prevail for the next three days. The temperatures are trending downward. In the next five days, we expect temperatures to range between 38 and 40 degrees. Monsoonal winds are also on their way, and monsoonal weather is expected to begin on June 15 or 16, particularly in southern Telangana,” she said.

“Because of the urban surroundings, we expect 38-40 degree temperatures and heatwave conditions in Hyderabad for the next two days,” the IMD scientist added. After that, the temperature will drop, and thundershowers are expected in the evening.

Sravani also stated that moderate rainfall is expected in southern parts of some districts in Andhra Pradesh, and that thunderstorms and strong winds will continue for the next 2-3 days.

“Moderate rainfall is expected in the southern parts of Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore and Chittoor districts. Monsoonal rain is expected in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema in the next 2-3 days.

“Temperature is expected to fall, resulting in normal weather conditions, the scientist said. Thunderstorm activity is also expected in north coastal Andhra Pradesh and parts of Rayalaseema,” she added.

Thunderstorms and strong winds are expected for the next three days. The heatwave will end tomorrow because the monsoon season has already begun in the southern parts of Andhra Pradesh. It will move towards Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 2-3 days.
