The Southwest monsoon has become active over Telangana, lashing most parts of the state on Saturday.
Heavy rains pounded in Warangal, Khammam and Adilabad districts inundating low lying areas which caused hardships to the people of the area.
The Penganga river in Komarabheem district was receiving copious inflows following heavy rains in upstream Maharashtra. Several lakes and water bodies too were overflowing due to heavy rains in the state since Thursday night.
Inclement weather prevailed in Hyderabad and in its twin Secunderabad since Saturday morning with intermittent light rain and showers. Besides, overcast sky bringing down the day and night temperatures.
The weather office said that light, moderate or heavy rainfall was likely to occur at most places in the state during the next 48 hours.
