Heavy Rains Lash Telangana, IMD Issues Yellow Alert Until May 23

Telangana experienced widespread rainfall, with heavy downpours particularly affecting Narayanpet, Wanaparthy, and Jogulamba Gadwal districts. The evening brought strong storms to Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, and parts of Medchal, as reported by Telangana Weatherman.

Morning thunderstorms swept through several other districts, including Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, Kamareddy, Nagarkurnool, Suryapet, and Nalgonda, accompanied by lightning strikes and strong winds.

In response to the weather developments, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Telangana, effective until May 23. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph are expected at isolated locations in multiple districts, including Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.

In Hyderabad, the forecast until May 22 suggests a generally cloudy sky with chances of light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds in the range of 30 to 40 kmph.

Authorities have advised residents to stay cautious and avoid outdoor activities during stormy conditions. Farmers are also urged to take necessary precautions to protect standing crops from potential weather-related damage.
