The Hyderabad Police Central Zone Team conducted a surprise raid at “BETA HOUSE”, situated at Pent house, Silver Oaks Apartments, Opp Khaja Mansion Function Hall, Masab Tank, Hyderabad and apprehended two workers of the Hookah Center who are providing and serving Hookah to the Customers without following rules and regulations mentioned in the Notification of Central Government, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
The accuse were identified as Sarfaraz (21) Manager of Hookah Center, Hassan Waseem owner of “BETA HOUSE”, Hookah Center and Agunadas (19) employee of Hookah Centre.
In a press release, the police said that the accused running Hookah center since last (6) months without obtaining specific license to run the Hookah Center from the competent authorities, while serving Hookah to minors / teenaged boys, on the information Task Force team raided at the premises and found Nine customers enjoying Hookah served by the Management of Hookah center and they spoiling their health. The management is not maintaining any entry register even there are No precautionary sign boards are displayed in the premises, there is no system for sending the exhausted air from smoke to outside and air cleaning system is not available. However there is notification Gazette of India from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare that No Service shall be allowed in any smoking area or space provided for Smoking. The owner of the “Beta House”, violated all the rules and regulations of the Notification and serving Hookah to the Minors and Customers.
The raid was conducted on a tip-off, and the police seized (12) Hookah Pots, (12 Boxes) Hookah Flavor and (18) Hookah Pipes, (02) Cell Phones and cash of Rs.3320/-. The above (02) respondents along with seized property were handed over to SHO, Humayunnagar Police Station for necessary action.
