According to police, two teenage boys, both brothers, stole nearly Rs.4 lakh from their house and spent it lavishly with friends in Jeedimetla.
The boys didn’t stop there. So as not to be caught by their parents, the boys replaced some of the stolen currency with counterfeit children’s banknotes.
A police report said the boys, aged between 8 and 10, had stolen the parents’ cash from the almirah over a period of 20 days. The incident occurred about a month ago. Two of their friends, ages 13 and 14, encouraged them to commit the act.
After stealing money, they replaced it with counterfeit children’s banknotes. Their parents realized their money had been stolen recently when they checked the currency.
An official had reported that the children used the money to buy a number of expensive gadgets and for other expenses, adding that the children confessed to their parents when confronted with the crime.
