Hyderabad Commissioner vows to ensure no ragging incident in city

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar today disclosed that only two ragging cases were registered this year under the Commissionerate jurisdiction. He also said they will strive to see that there won’t be even a single ragging incident in the coming year.

Participating in an anti-ragging awareness program at his office here on Wednesday, Anjani Kumar warned that serious action will be initiated against students who indulged in ragging. He also suggested to the college managements to create awareness among the students on eradication of ragging and on the relevant Acts.

The Hyderabad Police and the SHE Teams organized the program jointly and Additional CC Shikha Goel and DCPs of all Zones, College principals, lecturers and students participated in the program. N. Yadaiah, Registrar, JNTU , R. Manoj Kumar, Deputy Secretary, JNTU , Prof. B. Rajendra Naik, Dean Students affairs, OU. , Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City Addl. CP, Crimes &; SIT, have attended the meeting.

Addl. CP, Crimes & SIT requested the college principals to maintain vigil. The members of the anti-ragging committee were requested to keep a tab on the activities of students. (NSS)
