The Charminar monument is an internationally recognized icon in the center of Hyderabad. Since the construction of the monument in 1591, Charminar is synonymous with the culture of Hyderabad, standing tall as a reminder of the glorious days of the past era. The Charminar is an example of unpatrolled artistic brilliance, and it is also considered to be one of the marvelous structures in India.
Heritage has always been Old City’s calling. To restore the brilliance of the vast heritage and in particular this monument and to provide visitors an urban environment that is aesthetic, safe and secure, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) initiated Charminar Pedestrian Project. The project aims to give the visitors and the public a truly world class experience by restoring the local culture and customs, constructed elements, commodification, and create an atmosphere that enables vibrancy and economic growth.
It is our combined responsibility to ensure we make the region a world class heritage region offering unique experiences making it memorable for all. To kick start the initiative, Hyderabad Heritage 10K Run will be held on May 13, 2018 followed by a festive environment for all to relish.
The run will have 2 categories – 10 km and 5 km. Both the runs will start and finish at Charminar.
