Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is going to have an Integrated Smart Parking Management System (ISPMS) for 24 stations (between Bijapur-Nagole stretch) in the city, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) Managing Director NVS Reddy said .
HMRL officials said that the project envisages creating a smart parking system that utilises technology for information, payment and enforcement. A firm would be selected that will provide IT-based smart parking solution which is automated, cost-effective, secure, environment-friendly, energy efficient and must entail minimum human intervention for day-to-day parking management duly providing aesthetically designed parking sheds, officials said.
In the next few months, a radical change is going to be happening in parking of vehicles system in the city, he said a software is almost getting ready and without human intervention smart parking will be made available initially at 24 metro stations, he informed.
On multi-level car parking complexes, Reddy said the Request for Proposal (RFP) for multi-level car parking complexes will be floated in next 15 days.
To a question, he said a taskforce will be soon appointed towards implementation of common ticketing system for different modes of transport.
We will come out with a clear scheme on it within two months as the target given by Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K T Rama Rao, said Mr Reddy.
With regard to progress on the ongoing 72-km long elevated Hyderabad Metro Rail Project, Reddy said in August, services will be launched on Ameerpet to L B Nagar (16 km) stretch followed by Ameerpet and Hitec City (10 km) in October.
