Novartis, which has been rapidly expanding its operations in Hyderabad, now has more than 9,000 employees in the city, making it Novartis’ second largest base after its headquarters in Basel.

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, Telangana Minister for IT and Industries K.T. Rama Rao met with Vasant Narasimhan, Chief Executive Officer of Novartis to discuss Novartis’ growth in Telangana and its expansions.
With nearly 9000 associates, Novartis Hyderabad becomes the company’s second-largest location, after its headquarters in Basel. The Novartis Capability Centre in Hyderabad is the largest of its kind for a global pharma major in India.

Novartis’ growth in the city is driven by its focus on innovation, and the facility has become a key innovation hub for the company. Hyderabad is also the APAC hub for the company’s innovation initiative called Biome, which focuses on several key new areas like AI, Data, and Digital.
Several of the company’s important activities continue to be driven by the rich capabilities of Hyderabad’s Science, Technology, and Innovation ecosystem. Hyderabad’s growing R&D capabilities and exceptional talent pool are demonstrated by the growth of Novartis in Hyderabad.
Currently, Hyderabad serves more than 1,000 global innovators in their vision to improve healthcare and Research & Development across the globe.
