Hyderabad police arrest 19-year-old for vehicle theft

Police in Uppal arrested a youngster on Thursday in connection with the theft of motorcycles from residential colonies. They seized 22 vehicles worth rupees 13,50,000 were recovered from him.

Police say, Vangala Raju, 19, from Nagaram in Suryapet, came to the city at night and used duplicate keys to open the vehicle locks at bus stands and Metro stations.

During an investigation into vehicle thefts at Uppal metro station, Malkajgiri DCP Rakshita K Murthy said police caught Raju. Uppal, Ghatkesar, Kushaiguda, Medipally, LB Nagar, Bhongir, Chilpur, and Khazipet in Warangal were places where he was involved in 22 cases.

Punjagutta becomes a haven for manhole cover thieves

The Panjagutta police have been intimated by officials complaining about manhole covers being stolen rampantly in Punjagutta as civic bodies warn against opening manholes or removing manhole covers due to the monsoon.

It has been reported by local civic officials that some unknown persons frequently steal manhole covers from colonies, with 17 covers being stolen in Punjagutta alone in the last few months. An investigation is underway by the police, who have booked a case.

Manhole covers made of cement and iron were stolen earlier in the night by local gangs moving around colonies in auto-rickshaws. A sewerage discharge network includes manholes as an integral part of commercial complexes and residential apartments.

Mason from Bidar, was arrested for stealing a bike

Police in Afzalgunj arrested two juveniles in conflict with the law allegedly involved in the receiving of interstate two-wheelers on Saturday. A motorcycle worth Rs.17 lakh was seized from its possession by the police. He was identified as Mohammad Mahboob (24), a mason from the Bidar district of Karnataka. Neither of the juveniles is older than 17 years old. Also from Bidar, Azher, Fasil, and Salman have absconded.

Gowliguda police received complaints about bike theft on June 16 and 29. In order to identify the accused, police formed teams and monitored CCTV camera footage after booking a case and launching an investigation.

The police found the escape route from Gowliguda to Manekheli in Bidar by analyzing footage from 100 cameras.

After being apprehended by the Afzalgunj police team, the accused confessed to being involved in motorcycle thefts with Azher, Fasil, and Salman.
