On Thursday, the HyderabadPolice arrested Rowdy Sheeter of Mangalhat PS BJP MLA RajaSingh again, just days after a court refused police remand in a case filed against him for making controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad.
A week after he was taken into custody for the first time, he is held again. There is no indication as of yet as to which case Raja Singh has been arrested.
Singh was arrested and remanded by the police earlier on Tuesday for making statements about the Prophet. In its ruling, the Naompally court ruled that it had violated Section 41A of the CrPC in arresting the BJP leader. The same day, he was released.
The Hyderabad Police had challenged the Nampally criminal court’s remand petition against Raja Singh earlier in the day in the Telangana High Court. A procedural violation was cited by the police as the reason for challenging the order.
Singh is charged with promoting enmity between different groups based on religion under sections 153-A and 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts designed to outrage religious feelings by insulting their beliefs or religions), 505 (2) (publishing or distributing statements or reports containing rumors or alarming news with the intent of creating or promoting feelings of enmity and hatred) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
Munawar Faruqui was being discussed by Raja Singh when those remarks were made. He objected to Faruqui’s performance in Hyderabad because he insulted Hindu gods. Security was provided by the city police, however, and the show went well.
Following his suspension, the suspended BJP leader released a video in which he made some remarks against Faruqui, which Muslims claimed were against the Prophet. In response, protesters took to the streets and demanded Raja Singh’s arrest. During a recent video, Singh claimed there is communal violence in Telangana because KTR, the son of Telangana chief minister KCR, is involved in it.
AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi accused the BJP of issuing a video condemning Prophet Muhammad. We will continue protesting until this MLA is arrested because the prophet lives in the hearts of Muslims.
His recent video claimed that KTR, the son of Telangana chief minister KCR, is behind communal violence in the state.
